Creative Contest for Students "Me and the World of Unique Wildlife in My Region"

The PF “CAMP Alatoo” announces a contest among students of schools in the ayyil aimaks (rural districts) of Döböly (Naryn district), Kun-Chygysh, B. Mambetov (Tonsky district), Orgochor, Ak-Dobo, Ak-Shyirak, Barskoon, Darkan, Tamga AA, Zhargylchak (Jeti-Oguz district), and Enilchek (Aksy district). The event on the theme "Me and the World of Unique Wildlife in My Region" is intended for students from grades 6 to 11. Participants can submit their own works for the contest, such as models, drawings, essays, and poems in Kyrgyz and Russian languages.

The following submissions are accepted for the contest:

Essays with a minimum length of 2 A4 pages, as well as poems not exceeding 16 lines.

Drawings should be made with pencils, markers, or watercolor paints on A4 sheets.

For the model contest "Me and the World of Unique Wildlife in My Region," participants create works using various techniques from any material, with no more than 1 entry. The dimensions of the works should not exceed 100 cm x 100 cm and be less than 10 cm x 10 cm.

The contest will take place from March 15, 2024, to April 15, 2024, aiming to draw the attention of the younger generation to environmental issues related to climate change, species extinction, and biodiversity threats that require immediate action.

Participants can submit their works via email to the following addresses: in Kyrgyz language - u.azamat@camp.kg, in Russian language – dina@camp.kg,indicating the author's full name, school/class, place of residence, and contact information.

Following the contest, the jury, consisting of representatives from the PF “CAMP Alatoo”, will determine the winners, who will be awarded valuable prizes.

The contest results will be published on the website www.camp.kg and on social media platforms Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/CampAlatoo/) and Instagram (@campalatoo).

The contest is held with the support of the project "Improving the Conservation of Key Migratory Mammal Species in Central Asia through Climate Change-Informed Management and Decision-Making" (AMIC in CA), implemented by the PF “CAMP Alatoo” with the support of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Objectives of the contest:

To stimulate youth to reflect on global environmental issues and search for solutions.

To create a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences among participants from different countries.

To draw public attention to environmental issues through the eyes of the younger generation.
