On April 1, International Bird Day, the results of the "Birds Are Our Friends" contest were announced. Throughout March, schoolchildren from the villages of Sary-Bulun, Toguz-Bulak, and Yntymak competed in creating safe habitats and food sources for birds. The contest aimed to promote environmental awareness among students and encourage responsible attitudes toward nature.
Participants carried out various biotechnical activities: they built birdhouses and feeders, planted vegetation that serves as food for birds, and documented the entire process on video for submission to the jury, which included specialists from the СAMР Alatoo PF.
More than 40 projects were submitted. When selecting the winners, the jury considered not only the precision and quality of the constructions but also their originality, convenience, and the creativity of the video presentations.
The jury visited each village to personally award the winners with valuable prizes, including tablets, smart speakers, binoculars, and other gifts.
In Sary-Bulun, the winners were Tariyel Urazakunov (8th grade, 1st place) and Kanykey Asanalieva (7th grade, 2nd place).
In Toguz-Bulak, among high school students of Z. Asanaliev School, the awards were distributed as follows: Aliya Jumabekova (7th grade, 1st place), Syrgak Mukanov (9th grade, 2nd place), and Baibol Turdaliev (9th grade, 3rd place).
In Yntymak, Raatbek Tarancheev (6th grade) took 1st place. Asema Kubatbekova (10th grade) won 2nd place, while Nurel Aitpaev (8th grade) and Elina Isaeva (10th grade) shared 3rd place.
The "Birds Are Our Friends" contest demonstrated that caring for nature can be both beneficial and exciting. Specialists from the СAMР Alatoo PF hope that such initiatives will help students better understand the importance of biodiversity conservation and foster a lasting appreciation for the environment.
