Development of Green Initiatives in Central Asia: Exchange of Experiences and Search for Solutions

At the end of last week, a meeting was held in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) as part of the Green Business Platform — an initiative aimed at developing green business and sustainable projects in Central Asia. The organization СAMР Alatoo was represented at the meeting by its director, Murat Jumashev. Representatives from organizations in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, working in fields such as ecology, water resources, education, and improving the lives of rural regions, took part in the event.

The participants of the meeting shared information about their organizations and projects aimed at developing a sustainable economy. During the event, they became acquainted with the concept of the Green Business Platform and its main areas of work. Special attention was given to the discussion of the Platform’s strategic priorities, the current environmental challenges in the region, and potential solutions. As part of the presentations, discussions, and group work, the participants focused on developing projects that could be implemented in the future, as well as creating potential IT products.

In particular, СAMР Alatoo proposed the idea of creating online courses for environmental education. These courses could serve as an important tool for raising environmental awareness among the population. Additionally, initiatives for developing analytical tools and mechanisms for marketing and communication support to promote green initiatives were discussed.

Another important topic was the organization of the regional conference of the platform, which is scheduled for the fall of 2025. The platform representatives proposed organizing mini-versions of the conference in each of the countries in the region at the first stage, and then summarizing the results at the final expanded meeting in Uzbekistan.
