CAMP Alatoo PF strengthens international cooperation

Representatives of the СAMР Alatoo РF participated in the international conference “Nature-Based Solutions in Combating Climate Change,” organized by the Chambers of Forest Engineers of Turkey (ОMO) in Antalya.

Collaboration between the СAMР Alatoo РF and ОMO, united by a shared commitment to conserving natural resources and the environment, began in September 2022. As part of this partnership, the organizations signed a memorandum of cooperation, outlining joint efforts within the framework of the UN Strategic Plan for Forests through 2030. This includes advancing the Global Forest Goals and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in forest and land management, biodiversity conservation, internship support, student exchange programs, and other important initiatives. СAMР Alatoo РF joined ОMO’s professional international network upon the recommendation of the Forest and Land Users Association of the Kyrgyz Republic.

ОMO’s mandate includes organizing activities aimed at protecting interests, conserving the environment, ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources, and boosting agricultural and industrial production. Within this partnership, СAMР Alatoo РF was invited to participate in the international conference, which brought together representatives from state and civil forestry sectors of Azerbaijan, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, and Spain.

Participants in the conference, held in both offline and online formats, discussed key topics such as climate change adaptation, combating desertification, the use of nature-based solutions, protected area management, bioeconomy development, and more.

Experts from СAMР Alatoo РF presented their work on promoting sustainable forest management in Kyrgyzstan. They shared their experience in developing and implementing measures for restoring degraded forests and creating new forest plantations across 15 forestry enterprises, which were supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German Society for International Cooperation).

Participation in this event marked an important step for СAMР Alatoo РF in advancing international cooperation. The conference provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen partnerships, implement joint projects aimed at addressing global environmental challenges, exchange knowledge, and expand professional networks.
