Essay contest on forest conservation

PF "CAMP Alatoo" announces an essay contest on the conservation of walnut forests among students of grades 9-11 from schools in Bazar-Korgon and Aksy districts of Jalal-Abad region.

The contest aims to: (1) engage young citizens in forest conservation issues; (2) identify their personal views on the state of the environment, supported by reasoned conclusions; (3) increase motivation for careful forest use; (4) develop ecological awareness.

In their essays, high school students should express their own opinion on the topic "What should I do to prevent walnut forests from disappearing." The essay allows for a free form of writing, while its content should provoke thought on the issue.

Requirements for the essay:

• Works can be written in Kyrgyz and Russian languages;
• The text on the title page and in the table of contents must be handwritten in clear handwriting with blue or black ink or printed on a computer in Arial font, size 11;
• The title page must clearly indicate or be handwritten: the essay topic, the author's full name, contact information, grade, school, district;
• The essay should not exceed 4 handwritten pages or 3 printed A4 pages in length;
• Only one essay per author will be accepted.

Essays written with illegible handwriting and without the specified information will not be eligible for participation in the contest.

Original works marked "For the essay contest" must be submitted no later than June 15, 2022, by email to u.azamat@camp.kg.

The essays will be evaluated by a jury composed of representatives from the German Society for International Cooperation and the PF "CAMP Alatoo".

When reviewing the works, the ability of students to express subjective views and impressions, formulate thoughts clearly, describe ideas that encourage reflection and solution to the proposed problem, as well as the skills in using artistic means and creative approach will be taken into account.

Contest winners will have the opportunity to participate in the summer school "Chyirakh Jangak-2022," which will be held in Bazar-Korgon district in July of this year.

The results of the contest will be published on the website www.camp.kg and on the Facebook page PF CAMP Alatoo.
