Energy efficiency

CAMP Alatoo is a pioneering force in the development and dissemination of innovative energy-efficient solutions. We also provide training for masters in home insulation and facilitate access to financing for home insulation in rural areas. The Foundation has established production of energy-efficient and clean stoves and low-pressure boilers, the "Zhalyn", on the basis of a workshop opened in Bishkek in 2020. Thanks to the mini-production concept, the cost of stoves has been reduced, which allows the population to benefit from affordable technologies. The Foundation also fulfils the objectives and functions of raising awareness among rural communities about sustainable energy use and generation.

The implementation of energy-efficient technologies and practices has the potential to reduce energy consumption, thereby limiting the pollution of air, water and soil caused by the burning of fossil fuels. This reduces the demand for natural resources, which in turn minimises the destruction of natural habitats and preserves the ecosystems needed to maintain biodiversity.

     Approach:

  • Improving the sustainability of the ecosystem, preserving unique natural resources and natural habitats of wildlife by reducing air, water and soil pollution through the implementation of energy efficiency measures.

Tools:

  • Introduction of solar technology (water heaters and panels) and clean energy efficient stoves.
  • Introduction of energy-efficient technologies in the protected areas infrastructure as well as in the households of mountain communities.
