Project Coordinator of the Sustainable Land Management program
Maksat - Expert in Natural Resource Management with over 15 years of experience, scientific work, and interdisciplinary education. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biology from the J. Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University, a diploma in Finance and Credit, and has completed a program in Ecosystem Restoration and Sustainable Land Management at the Agricultural University of Iceland.
His work as a researcher at the Forest Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic provided Maksat with a deep understanding of ecological processes and practical experience, which he successfully applies in his professional activities. Since 2015, he has been working with the СAMР Alatoo PF, specializing in projects related to sustainable pasture and forest management. Within these projects, Maksat focuses on developing strategies for rational land resource use, ecosystem restoration, and monitoring and assessing the state of pastures.
Drawing on his extensive experience, he implements advanced methodologies such as the Grazing Response Index (GRI) and Participatory Rangeland and Grassland Assessment (PRAGA). He also contributes to the development of electronic systems, including the "Electronic Pasture Management System," a mobile application for grazing assessment, and monitoring databases.
Maksat is an experienced moderator and trainer, conducting training sessions for both local communities and trainers (ToT). He uses interactive approaches such as community mapping and simulation games to raise awareness and engage people in natural resource conservation efforts.
