Mountain Villages Partnership and Development Foundation (MVPDF) was jointly established by the Alliance of Central Asian Mountain Communities (AGOCA) and the Alpine Alliance in 2006 on the basis of experience gained by the Central Asian Mountain Partnership (CAMP) on natural resource management.
The Foundation’s objective is to improve the living conditions of citizens living in mountain communities through the promotion of sustainable development. The Foundation’s mission is to inform donors about the real needs of mountain communities and facilitate their access to financial resources.
MVPDF operates in the following areas:
- Technical assistance in the construction and reconstruction of mountain bridges in cooperation with local authorities and forest managements;
- Facilitation in providing microfinance services to rural communities for the use of energy-saving technologies;
- Technical assistance for the establishment of financial institutions at a village level in the form of Public Foundation “Microcredit Agencies” (PF MCA).
